QuietCool repair
QuietCool not running right?
We service QuietCool units regardless of who installed them — and we diagnose before we quote parts.
Common QuietCool symptoms and what they usually mean
| Symptom | Usual cause | Typical fix |
|---|---|---|
| Runs but moves little air | Damper not opening fully, or attic venting obstructed | Damper service or added exhaust venting |
| Hums, will not start | Capacitor or seized bearing | Capacitor replacement, or motor if the bearing is gone |
| Only one speed works | Control board or wall control | Control replacement, diagnosed at the unit |
| Remote unresponsive | Pairing lost, or receiver fault | Re-pair, or receiver replacement |
| Draft in winter | Damper not sealing | Damper adjustment, gasket or replacement |
| New rattle or hum | Loose mount, duct contact or blade imbalance | Re-mount and isolate |
The single most common call we take is “weak airflow” on a fan that is working perfectly — with the windows closed. Open two to four windows a few inches each before booking a visit.
Questions we get about quietcool repair
Do you repair units you did not install?
Yes, and most of our service calls are exactly that.
Is my unit still under warranty?
Bring us the model and install date and we will check. If it is registered, warranty parts handling is ours to deal with, not yours.
Can you replace just the motor?
Often, yes. On current-generation units the motor and control are frequently serviceable separately.
